Financial Fitness Week

Build financial fitness, together.

Because the hard things about money are easier when we don't have to do them alone. From November 9 to 13, people across the country are hosting free money conversations in the places they already belong. Host one for your people. We'll hand you everything you need.

Everyone's money muscles work a little differently. We all get stronger together.

You don't need to be a financial expert to host. You need a place you already show up, a few people who trust you, and about an hour. The presentation does the teaching. You lead the conversation.

Put your town on the map.

Tell us you're hosting and your pin goes up. Every pin is a room full of people building financial fitness together.

Be the first pin on the map.

How to host in five steps.

Here's the whole plan, with how Kristin Messerli, FirstHome IQ's Executive Director, is doing hers.

1

Start where you already belong.

Think about where you already show up every week. The best room for a money conversation is one where people already know you.

Your gymYour churchYour kid's schoolThe libraryYour officeYour neighborhoodYour client list
Example: Kristin

Mine's my gym.

2

Ask someone to co-host.

Reach out to the person who runs the space. It's an easy yes: free programming for their members and new faces through their door. You bring the content, they bring the room.

A note to send them

Hi [name], I'm hosting a free workshop for Financial Fitness Week, November 9 to 13. It's a national week of community money conversations, led by the nonprofit FirstHome IQ. Would you co-host one with me at [place]? I'll bring the presentation and the invites. It's free programming for your members and a reason for new faces to come through the door. Would [date] work? [Your name]

Example: Kristin

I reached out to my gym owner about hosting it at the gym.

3

Make it easy to RSVP.

Set up a free event page on Partiful, Eventbrite or wherever your people already RSVP. Here's the description, ready to paste. Fill in the highlighted parts.

It's Financial Fitness Week! Some of us are natural savers. Some of us are built to spend, plan, worry or wing it. Everyone's money muscles work a little differently, and we all get stronger together. Join us at [place] on [date] at [time] for a free, judgment-free conversation about money. We'll start with a quick quiz to see how you're built, talk it through together, and everyone leaves with one small next step. Bring a friend. #FinancialFitnessWeek

Example: Kristin

I'm putting mine on Partiful and Eventbrite.

4

Spread the word.

Post a graphic, then send a personal email or text to the people you most want in the room. Tap a graphic to download it.

Email or text invite

Subject: Join me for Financial Fitness Week Hi [name], I'm hosting a free money conversation for Financial Fitness Week on [date] at [place]. We'll start with a 3-minute quiz to see how you're built around money, talk through [topic] together, and you'll leave with one small step to take. No judgment and no sales pitch. Save your spot here: [link]. Bring a friend! [Your name]

Tip

Personal invites fill rooms. A text from you will bring more people than any post.

5

Host it, and capture it.

Grab the presentation from the kit. Open with the 3-minute Built Like That quiz so everyone starts together, then use as much or as little of the deck as fits your room.

Ask a friend with a good camera, or hire a content creator, to capture the room. A few short interviews afterward make the best posts. Then send us a photo and one highlight with #FinancialFitnessWeek for the national recap.

Example: Kristin

I hired a content creator to capture the night, and I'll record a few interviews after.

Questions.

Do I have to sign up to use the kit?

No. Everything on this page is free to download. Tell us you're in if you'd like updates and a spot in the recap.

Do I need to be a financial expert?

No. The presentation does the teaching. You lead the conversation.

Does my event have to look a certain way?

No. A workshop at the gym, a lunch-and-learn, a webinar, a living room with snacks: host it the way that fits your people.

Can I add my own logo?

Yes. Add your name and logo to your invites and slides, with FirstHome IQ as the lead brand.

What happens with quiz responses?

Each person sees their own results, and FirstHome IQ never sells quiz responses.
